Occupation and Social Status
It will have been seen from enumertion of the sub-castes that the occpation of the kahars are diverse. Of the Western Kahar Mr. Ibbetson writes :- "He is a carrier, waterman, fisherman, and basket maker of the east Punjab, he carries palanquins and all such burdens as are borne by a yoke on the shoulders, and he is specially concerned with the water, in so much that the cultivation of water nuts and the netting of water-fowls are for the most part in his hands, and he is the well-sinker of the Province.
Except kannojiya Brahman all other caste eat pakki and drink water from Kahars hands".

ReplyDeleteI ajay chandravanshi want to comment- why persons of this samaj hiding in all part of the country with different titles. why they do not keep one title if want to develop our samaj or want to get this samaj streighten further.
ReplyDeleteHi this is Prakash I'm also chandravanshi from NE orginally from up most of my relatives living in other states like WB,UP BIHAR WRITE THEIR SURNAME SINGH and same writes people from other caste who claim themselves as rajputs.This makes really confusion for our people specially young generation.I belive that if everyone from ourCommunity start writing surname like rawani or chandravsnshi then it help us to identify each other better.one thing I like to share with u that Till last week I had no idea that our Community is widely spread and is known by different names.I was thinking that I belong to general category And stop applying govt jobs after age 28 but the fact is we belong to obc so it is necessary to make our people aware of govt reservations in jobs Becouse in politics we find leaders from all section of societies and many from upper caste but hardly one or two from our casteBecouse when I search in google I find one name Ramchandra chandravanshi from jharkhand.so let us work to unite our people for the development of our community.

ReplyDeleteYou r right there is no surname Gupta in our community.It was big mistake in the past.all my relatives writes surname Singh.I am Chandra vans hind I am to be chandravanshi.
